Despite being the capital of the French Riviera and a destination that attracts the rich and famous,Nice has a good selection of hotels right across the price range. You'll tend to find many of the lower-priced hotels clustered in the streets just south of the Avenue Thiers, near to the train station.

Although it's a good ten-minute stroll to the beach from here, hotels in the vicinity of the station can be ideal for those using Nice as a base to explore the surrounding areas. Generally speaking, the closer you get to the Promenade des Anglais (the city's premier promenade running the length of the beachfront), the more expensive the accommodation.

Tips;

Be wary of the peak summer months around June and July when the town is absolutely packed with holidaymakers from all over France and Europe. If you don't book in advance for this time of the year it is extremely difficult to get any sort of choice of accommodation in the city.
