Delta Airlines

From its humble beginnings in May 1924 as a crop dusting company, Delta Airlines has grown to become one of the world's largest airlines, flying to six continents and carrying more than 160 million passengers per year to 70 countries and over 350 destinations. Delta is estimated to employ some 75,000 people when including the employees of its subsidiaries, 12,400 of which are pilots.

Along with a number of other carriers including Air France, KLM, Continental Airlines and Northwest Airlines, Delta Airlines is a (founding) member of the SkyTeam airline alliance, which is the second only to Star Alliance in terms of the largest airline alliances in the world.
